Softspikes

Softspikes, the first name in golf shoe spike technology and innovation, was invented in 1993 when a winter metal spike campaign was supported by several US golf associations. In order to offer golfers an alternative to tennis shoes, the co-founder of Softspikes Faris McMullin experimented with various “plug” designs to replace metal spikes. The final design, a plastic-bonded spiral design, became the industry’s first and only patented non-metallic spike. Little did the inventor know at the time that this design would revolutionize the golf industry and change the game forever.

Soft spikes have become one of the most popular golf “inventions” of the 20th century. Softspikes are the number one choice of golfers worldwide and offer better traction, more comfort and improved playing surfaces.

Softspikes LLC is a division of PrideSports that was formed in January 2003 after Pride Manufacturing Company acquired SoftSpikes and its sister company TriSport Ltd. of England. This merger formed the world’s leading golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines respectively.
